A skull emerges in a spectrum of pink, blue, purple, white, and grey, its surface carrying the remnants of something vibrant, expressive, and alive. Over it, gold and black paint begins to drip downward, obscuring the color beneath. The Death of Creativity, Is Greed is a reflection on what happens when artistic expression becomes secondary to profit. The skull represents the death of creativity itself, while the vivid colors beneath it represent the imagination, individuality, and emotional freedom that make creative work meaningful. The gold dripping across the skull introduces another force entirely: money, value, ownership, and the desire to turn creativity into something that can be measured by its financial worth.
But the gold isn't clean. It drips. It spreads. It covers.
The black intertwined with the gold adds another layer to that corruption, transforming something initially colorful and expressive into something increasingly consumed by the pursuit of value. The title is deliberately blunt: The Death of Creativity, Is Greed. This piece reflects the artist's criticism of a culture where creative expression can become overshadowed by commercialization, status, sales, and financial gain. When the primary question surrounding art becomes “How much is it worth?” rather than “What does it mean?”, something essential can begin to die. The skull isn't simply a symbol of death. It is a warning about what creativity can become when money matters more than making.
